One-component, paste-like silicone adhesive sealant that hardens at room temperature to form a strong, flexible rubber seal with excellent oil resistance. LOCTITE® SI 598 is a one-component, RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) metallic black silicone oxime sealant. It cures at room temperature when exposed to atmospheric moisture to form a strong, flexible silicone rubber seal. Its thixotropic nature allows for smooth dispensing while preventing migration of the liquid product once applied to the part. It exhibits excellent resistance to motor oils and can withstand operating temperatures from -54°C to 260°C (-65°F to 500°F). It resists aging, weathering, and thermal cycling without hardening, shrinking, or cracking. Excellent resistance to engine oil. Forms a strong and flexible silicone rubber seal. Ideal for oil pans, transmission cases, valves and guides, differential covers.
