LavaGrip is a black scoria lava rock, highly vesicular in nature. These circular vesicles run throughout the material and as they reach the surface of the material they create little circles that cover the surface of the material, the rim of all these circles are sharp in nature. Being very durable (hard) in nature, through the crushing process, additional sharp points & edges are also created. These characteristics allow LavaGrip to embed itself in ice and snow to deliver superior traction. Unlike sand, which is naturally round and will roll as forward pressure is applied, LavaGrip offers superior grip on wet or icy surfaces.
